Abdulmoneam Morad, has thirty years’ experience as a public servant, businessman and real estate developer in Jeddah and the Middle East. He has a well-earned reputation for his business skills, and for his honesty, integrity, respect and fairness. Mr. Morad has demonstrated an enviable level of social responsibility and commitment to his home city of Jeddah, its citizens and their future, one that positions him well to oversee and help guide Jeddah over the next decades during what is sure to be a period of unprecedented growth and development.
Service as a Member of the Council of Jeddah Province - In 2006 the Governor of the Mecca region recommended to the Saudi Minister of the Interior that Mr. Morad be appointed to serve as a member of the first Council of Jeddah Province (Jeddah Council). The Minister of the Interior then favorably reported on Mr. Morad’s candidacy to the Cabinet of His Royal Highness, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, where it was approved. Following his appointment Mr. Morad served as a member of the Jeddah Council from 2006 to 2009, when he was reappointed to a second term that lasted from 2009 to 2013. During his eight years of service, the Jeddah Council consisted of thirty-five members, thirty chosen from the regional leadership of the Kingdom’s various Government Ministries and five, such as Mr. Morad, who were appointed.
As a member of the Jeddah Council’s Development and Services, Economic Development and Health committees, Mr. Morad played a pivotal role in advising the Governor of Jeddah Province on matters of importance to the city and citizens of Jeddah, including the planning and implementation of steps necessary to expand Jeddah’s role as the regional and economic hub and gateway to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina. That process, now underway, involves infrastructure, transportation and housing initiatives unprecedented in scope and size that are expected to continue for many years to come. Despite a request that he do so, in late 2013, Mr. Morad declined to serve a third term as a member of the Jeddah Council, preferring instead to focus his energies on business and real estate development opportunities in Jeddah, the Kingdom and Middle East.
Service as a Member and Leader of the Jeddah - Chamber of Commerce and Industries complementing his service on the Jeddah Council and his commitment to the transformation of the city, since 2003 Mr. Morad has also rendered valuable counsel and assistance to, and played a leadership role as a member of, the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industries (Jeddah Chamber). The Jeddah Chamber is the city’s leading business organization, comprising members of the real estate, banking, commercial, industrial and tourism sectors, and is devoted to promoting business growth and influencing government policy, both in Jeddah and beyond, through its affiliation with the Council of Saudi Chambers in Riyadh (Saudi Chambers Council).
Mr. Morad served as a member of Jeddah Chamber’s Consultancy Council, as well as its Housing, Urban Development, Real Estate and Information Technology committees, with a particular focus on the Housing Committee, of which he was Vice President and the Urban Development Committee, of he was Chairman. In these roles he had significant interaction with the Governor of Jeddah Province, the Mayor of Jeddah and the leadership of certain of the Kingdom’s ministries, including the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Municipalities and Rural Affairs (MOMRA) and the Ministry of Housing.
Service as a Member and Leader of the Saudi Chambers Council - Mr. Morad has also been an active member of the Saudi Chambers Council in Riyadh, where he has served on a number of international business councils, including the French and Czech business councils, as well as the Singapore business council, of which he is a former Vice President. Although no longer serving in public office, Mr. Morad remains today a valued member of both the Jeddah Chamber and the Saudi Chambers Council.
Throughout his years of service in Jeddah and the Kingdom at large Mr. Morad has developed close relationships with many business and government leaders.
Real Estate and Investment Business Experience - Mr. Morad’s accomplishments in business are extensive. For over thirty years he has successfully engaged in real estate investment and development in Saudi Arabia and beyond. Mr. Morad and affiliates currently have invested over $55 Million (U.S.) in real estate developments and related companies and are actively seeking other investment opportunities.
He is a frequent contributor on real estate and industrial development to Saudi newspapers Al Eqtisadiya, Okaz, Al Sharq Al Awsat and Al Madina, and has been interviewed of real estate and business development matters by the television channels Al Akhbariya, Al Arabiya, CNBC and Al Akariyah. Mr. Morad, who is married and a father of three, holds a Master of Science degree in Management Information Systems from Seattle Pacific University, Seattle, Washington and a Bachelor of Science degree, with a double major in Computer Information Systems and Management Science, from Central Washington State University, Ellensburg, Washington
